After a seven-year gap, we came back for a couples trip. We hadn’t realised it had been that long. The Bothy is still a fabulous base for exploring, but this time we just relaxed and enjoyed the splendour of the place, and got to know some neighbours. We watched squirrels and deer. Stephen and John are excellent hosts, always around if you need them. Thanks as well for the bottle of wine and homemade marmalade, both went down a treat. The wine was especially welcome after our ten-hour drive from the Lakes. We won’t leave it so long before coming back.

The cottage was faultless, the best place we’ve stayed in over forty years, and we had a lovely time at The Bothy. The welcome pack included a jar of Stephanie's Marmalade, which I’m sure both the Queen and Paddington would have given the thumbs up to! John was really friendly and helpful with information. You won’t find better accommodation if that’s what you’re looking for. Looking forward to returning :)

The hosts were so welcoming, and the homemade marmalade in the useful welcome pack was delicious. We found the place after a plumbing emergency at home, and it took a lot of stress out of the situation. It was spotless, roomy, peaceful and lovely, with shops and takeaways an easy walk away. The shower was incredible too. We really didn't want to leave. Highly recommend.

We hoped to spot deer on the lawn, but sadly didn't. Still, this was such a great find when we stayed a few years ago: exceptionally clean, well equipped, and in a quiet spot close to everything in town. We booked again for the following Christmas, then had to cancel because of family circumstances. We'll definitely come back soon.

A lovely place to unwind. The owners are very nice, and it's quiet and private, with shops close by and the New Forest just across the road. There's loads of space for a one-bedroom place too. Give it a try.
