Machynlleth has good cafés, pubs and shops, and I enjoyed wandering around on my own while Lee went off-road motorbiking for a couple of days. We stayed at Maenllwyd Guest House for a long weekend, from 24th to 27th October 2025, and had a really nice time. The hosts were friendly and made it feel homely. Gareth's breakfasts were excellent. Over three mornings we tried the full Welsh, scrambled eggs, and beans on toast, with good coffee and plenty of toast. I was sorry not to have another morning to try the omelette. Radio 2 in the background was a nice finishing touch. The room was comfortable, the en suite was presented perfectly, and there was lots of parking at the back. We had a motorbike and trailer, and Lee was able to park both in the garage at the back, which was a big plus. We'd happily return and recommend it. Thank you. Wendy & Lee, Cherry Willingham, Lincoln

After a long, cold day on the road, it was a lovely place to arrive. The host met me, parking at the back was good, and the room had a nice view and a very welcome shower. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable room price, and I slept peacefully. I'd definitely recommend it.

The Guesthouse has easy parking at the back and a big garden, and Gavin makes fantastic breakfasts. Machynlleth is handy for exploring Snowdonia, with its mountains, valleys, rivers and sheep country. If it rains, it usually clears before long, and you can keep busy in Mach. There's good pub food, Indian food, an award-winning Chippy and a Leisure Centre if you feel like working off the food 🤣.
