The garden was a real highlight, sunny for most of the day, with a table, chairs, and a climbing frame our 9-year-old loved. There was plenty of room when my in-laws and their small dog joined us later in the week, and the big dining table and cupboards full of games kept us all occupied. We also cooked at home most nights, thanks to a well-equipped kitchen and a fridge that held more than it looked like it would. A small freezer for ice cream might have been handy, but we managed fine. Madley is a lovely, quiet village, with a Londis that stocks most of what you might need. Hereford is a short drive away for shops, restaurants, and takeaway food, and Tesco can deliver groceries. The cottage itself was lovely, and the flowers and eggs waiting for us were a nice touch. The neighbours were friendly and gave us useful ideas for days out. We did notice quite a few flies, so a screen on the back door could help, though it didn't really bother us. There was occasional road noise, but coming from the city, we still found it peaceful. We had a fantastic week and would definitely consider staying at peaceful cottage again.
