We stopped in on a Sunday and felt uncomfortable, so we didn't stay long. The pub seemed to attract fox hunt enthusiasts, and our vegetarian roast took longer to arrive than the meat meals. The welcome from the staff member at reception was very cold. We wondered if she was just having a bad day, but then saw her greet other people warmly and seat guests with dogs in an area she'd said wasn't dog friendly. Some of our group were visibly queer, so we wondered if that explained it, though it could have been something else.

Ten of us and two dogs managed to sit down for Sunday dinner, and what a meal it was. We all thought the roast and puddings were among the best we'd had in ages, and the prices were very good. The mother and daughter who run this beautiful pub were so helpful and shared lots about the area. It's dog and child friendly too. So glad we found it, we'll be back!

A proper local pub in the Brecon Beacons, with tasty food and people who are genuinely friendly. Dogs are loved here too. A great find.
