Dewhamill

The views over Lough Beg are fantastic, and the place is spotlessly clean. Margaret and Patrick made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade Wheaten Bread. Big thanks to them and to the chef 😁. This should be your next B and B.

We ended up staying an extra night because a hurricane was due the day we planned to travel south. The hosts at Dewhamill let us stay even though it was their day off, so we didn’t have to brave the storm. They were friendly and helpful all along, and really went out of their way for us. The place is clean and cozy. We spent a rainy afternoon chatting with them and watching movies from their collection in the den. Breakfast is included and delicious, and the countryside around it is beautiful.

We were in a lovely quiet spot, waking to birdsong and views across fields to Church Island and grazing cows, but it didn’t feel remote. Bellaghy town and the Tap House Pub, which served great food, were five minutes away, as was a major motorway. From here we easily drove to the Antrim coast and Giants Causeway, taking the motorway out and country roads on the way back. Margaret and Patrick were wonderful hosts, made us feel at home, and knew the area extremely well. The guest house was immaculate, making it a perfect short-term base. I’d highly recommend this B&B.
