The house had just the right amount of space and rooms for our chilled weekend, and it was beautiful inside. We loved how well stocked the kitchen was, especially having two dishwashers, and the beds were comfy with clean rooms throughout. The caterer recommendations were really useful too. We'd happily stay again.

The river views were spectacular, and there’s a huge lounge with a big TV, plus a large kitchen and dining table and plenty of board games. It’s a spacious house with lots of rooms, and it worked really well for a big family. The drive in is a bit out of the way, but worth it, with Maldon about 30 minutes away. There are a couple of villages on the route with fuel and some good churches and pubs. This time of year, bring cream for gnats and midges.

We all had room to gather around the big kitchen and eat together, which worked brilliantly for my 60th. The house, chalets and cabins suited everyone, and the manager and team were really helpful. Bellropes has amazing views and was an ideal setting for a special birthday. We made some lovely memories there and would recommend it.

We had a great time at Bellropes Countryside Retreat for a weekend event. It was ideal for our large group, children included, and the location and views were fantastic. The Bellropes team were so helpful and accommodating. We were very happy with the stay and hope to come back next year.
