The scones and sandwiches were lovely, with homemade pastries and seasonal ingredients giving the traditional spread a more refined feel. We sat in one of the cosy lounges, though the Abbey Row dining room with its hand-painted gold stars sounds lovely too. The calm setting and friendly staff made it a relaxing treat. At busy times, service may be slower: tea and scones can take a while, and some guests said their used teapots were changed before fresh refills arrived. Most people seem very pleased with the food, with one calling it the best afternoon tea they’d had. Booking for a quieter time might make things smoother.

The Sunday roast was amazing, and the rest of the lunch was fabulous too. The service and atmosphere were both great. It was quite pricey, but I thought it was worth it.

The Bell is a lovely place for an occasion, and the table, setting and staff were fantastic. But the high tea we had this weekend didn't work for our group of six, including two children. There was too little savoury food and too much sweet for our taste, so we ended up taking a lot home. I'd come back to the Bell, but not for high tea unless they balance it a bit better.
