The sheep wandering around the fields were especially calming to watch on long summer evenings, and keep an eye out for bats as it gets dark. The accommodation was comfortable and so quiet, really away from everything. As our hosts put it, “it's seven miles to anywhere.” We ate very well for sensible prices at the Farmers Arms a few miles away. Walkers should know that some footpaths near the farm marked on OS maps can't be used because the gates and stiles are completely overgrown. There's plenty of choice for walks further afield, along with lots to see.

Fields all around you make this a peaceful place to get away, whether for a long weekend or a full week. It's on a farm, with good options for walking and biking, or simply unwinding. There's a pub a couple of miles away.

A great place to stay, with a lovely host. The walks through the fields nearby are lovely, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Highly recommended.
