The breakfast was fresh, delicious and offered loads of choice, and the staff kept the large free car park carefully gritted. We booked the Abbey hotel for a birthday, and they helped make it special. Everyone was welcoming, especially the man at reception, who took the time to give us a map and explain what's nearby. Our room was beautiful with an amazing view, and the complimentary drink on arrival was a lovely touch and excellent value. They really look after their customers. I'd love to return and highly recommend the abbey.

I paid £118 for one night, and the room was the worst I've ever had. The bed was child-sized, and even though I'm only 153 cm tall, my feet reached the end. There was no headboard, so when I stretched my arm it touched the wall. The shower room was so cramped I could barely stand in it, let alone move around. The food was disappointing too: the soup was blended boiled broccoli with hot water, the chicken was dry and overcooked, and the so-called chocolate orange was actually chocolate mousse. Breakfast was just standard sausage, bacon, egg and toast, with no fresh fruit. I asked for a banana and was given an orange because they had none; the only fruit available was frozen and thawed overnight. There was no pool or sauna, just a gym, which I didn't visit because thinking about what I'd paid was already upsetting. I expected that a place like Holiday Inn might have offered a queen-size bed, pool, sauna and other amenities for the same price. I wasn't happy with my stay and would rate it negative 5. When I went to reception to explain, she said she'd already raised my concern but didn't offer a refund or even a discount. This hotel is off my list.

Our ground-floor room was huge, with a very comfortable bed and an equally large bathroom. The shower was over the bath, but it was powerful and perfectly fine. A waterfall shower alongside the bath would add even more wow factor if the bathroom were updated. The building is beautifully maintained, with lots of different areas to explore, and there's a good-sized car park. The Abbey Hotel is a gorgeous, majestic building right in the centre of Malvern. We were there for a badminton weekend on a special dinner, bed and breakfast rate. Dinner and the disco were in the Edgar Suite. The food was really good, and the serving staff were lovely, polite and efficient, even with 17 large tables to look after. Reception and everyone who served us at dinner and in the bar gave outstanding service. We didn't have time to explore the beautiful Malvern Hills, so we'll definitely return for a short break in spring. I'd recommend the hotel for groups planning a function, conference or similar, and we're hoping to bring family members next time.

We can't wait for our fourth visit this summer. The view from the room is breathtaking, and the buffet breakfast is fantastic, freshly prepared and served in a comfortable restaurant by staff who are happy to help. The rooms are clean and very well maintained, and the staff are polite and do what they can to make your stay comfortable.

The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is relaxing. My room was warm, clean and spacious, and the staff were professional, friendly and welcoming throughout my three-night stay at the Abbey. The Romanian man on reception during the week was outstanding at customer service. He was happy to chat and share information about the local area.
