Crowne Plaza Hotel Manchester City Centre by IHG

Our three rooms on the fifth floor had a beautiful city view, and we really appreciated the complimentary water, slippers and bathrobes. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped. The housekeeping team were lovely and brought extra water when we asked. The two receptionists were friendly and helpful, and the bartenders gave us nice drink recommendations. We stayed for two nights with my friends and my mum at Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre, and everything was great from start to finish. The hotel has a warm, relaxed feel and a great location, with excellent service. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to Manchester. Thanks for such a pleasant visit!

I was travelling alone for a two-night stay over the May bank holiday and felt safe and comfortable throughout. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Josh at reception deserves a special mention, as does Yupin in the restaurant, who was so kind and friendly. Everyone was nice, which made my birthday stay even more enjoyable. Thanks for a wonderful visit.

I left exhausted after only about two hours of very interrupted sleep, then had to attend a five-hour conference and drive home. The hotel is lovely and the staff are great, but it failed at the one thing I needed from a hotel, a good night’s rest. Before that night, I’d been impressed. I was there for a business conference, check-in was smooth, and my room was clean, roomy and comfortable. Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced, the food was tasty, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The room became unbearably warm and stuffy, and its thermostat didn’t work. Reception told me the whole floor had no air conditioning or temperature control and offered a fan, but nobody had mentioned the problem at check-in or offered to move me. The staff member who brought a tall oscillating fan gave me one with exposed wires, and it was broken. Its timer dial would unwind and stop the fan every 90 minutes, so I had to keep getting up to restart it. By 5am I was exhausted and went to reception. They promised the manager would call before I checked out, but no one did. At checkout I asked for the manager and was told the shift had changed, so the day manager, Andy, knew nothing about my ordeal. He was helpful, to be fair, but insisted they hadn’t known about an AC issue and said the whole floor wasn’t affected. He explained the AC system had recently been upgraded but had glitches. I was offered a discount and told to contact Andy if I stayed again. I’m not sure I will. I stayed there one night and was very impressed at first, but the problems ruined the night.

We had a two-night stay to see a musical, and the hotel was well placed for exploring Manchester. There’s parking nearby, with a small discount for hotel guests. The room was a decent size, clean and had everything we needed. We also had access to the club lounge, which was a nice perk, with snacks and alcoholic drinks included for two hours in the evening. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and Julie and another staff member gave us a lovely welcome. I’m sorry I can’t remember the second person’s name.
