Maldron Hotel Manchester City Centre

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were so helpful. We especially enjoyed having a laugh with Gary. The location in Manchester city centre worked well: we walked to most places and took an Uber sometimes. Our room, 414, was comfortable and the beds were good, but it faced the railway line and a building site, so it could be noisy. We had one evening meal there, and it was very average. All in all, a clean, friendly hotel and a very good stay.

For the price, this was unbeatable, and I can't think of any downsides. The room and bathroom were spacious, modern and clean, with blackout curtains that made the room very quiet. There was a great choice of tea, coffee, water and biscuits, and the ironing board, extra pillows and Chromecast were useful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Email and text updates made self check-in easy. The location was great for restaurants, bars and China Town, a two-minute walk from Oxford station and Palace Theatre. Breakfast was included and had a fantastic range of hot and cold food, including a full English, cereal and toast. I'd book again in a heartbeat. Keep up the good work!

We chose this hotel because it was well placed for us, with my daughter in halls at MMU just around the corner. St Peter's Square is also an easy walk for the trams. Online check-in was an option, and the room was lovely with super comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful and restocked straight away. After each maid service, the complimentary water and biscuits were a great touch. A few details were missed, though: tea and coffee weren't topped up, and neither were the toilet rolls. The downstairs loos had the same problem, with a very dirty toilet and no loo roll again.

We slept very well, with no noise at night, and the lift was always available and quick. The station is close, and there's parking a 2 to 5 minute walk away. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the bathroom and shower were clean too. The shower heated up quickly. The only problem was the fire alarm going off repeatedly during the day, but it was fixed within an hour. Breakfast was standard, and the staff were polite and attentive throughout our stay.
