Manchester City Centre (Arena/Printworks) Hotel

We had a lovely night here and would choose it over the other Premier Inns in Manchester. The receptionist was funny and so kind when we explained that someone had tried to get into our room. I have anxiety, and she made me feel much better about what had happened. The room was impressively big and super clean, thanks to nova, and the layout made everything easy to find. It's close enough to walk to the city centre, but far enough away that we didn't get the noise. Louie on the bar was lovely too. Even though it was busy and getting late, he stopped for a proper chat with us. Thanks so much!

The room was large, clean and pleasant, though it could use some updating. The staff we did find were absolutely lovely, but there seemed to be very few of them. We couldn't find where to have dinner, and there was nobody available to check us in for breakfast. The self-check-in machine wouldn't read our QR code, so we were left waiting around without knowing what to do. We've stayed at Premier Inns for years and had been in three different ones over the previous three nights. This was our worst experience. We were on floor 4, room 411, and someone on the floor was smoking dope. The smell was everywhere, and it makes my lips very itchy and swollen. Two hours later I was still suffering, with no staff around to tell.

The room was huge, and the staff were really nice. The view of the cathedral was decent too, but I'd take a decent room without a view any day. This was one of the worst Premier Inn rooms I've stayed in, alongside Hull city centre. It stank, and the bathroom was worse. The carpet looked three shades darker from dirt and maybe age. The heating was turned all the way up but the room never got warm. The windows were filthy and hard to open, the shower took ages to get hot water, and the bed wouldn't lock in place, so it moved whenever we tried to get on.

Really good room and location. The shower head was a bit broken, though it still worked well. They advertised a 24-hour bar and pizzas, but the bar closed around 1 to 2am. Apart from that, it was a great stay.
