The little extras the staff put so much time and care into made our stay feel special, especially for our 40th wedding anniversary. They’d decorated the room for us, which was such a lovely surprise. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the service was great. We also really enjoyed the food. Thanks to Sahar, Josiah, and Ben for looking after us in the bar, and to all the staff for making the stay memorable. We’re looking forward to coming back soon.

Breakfast was really enjoyable, and the staff there were friendly and helpful. The reception team were welcoming too, explained everything thoroughly and even offered me a room though I arrived before check-in time. Piccadilly gardens is a central spot with everything on site. My room was clean, modern and roomy enough, with okay pillows and a bed, plus enough amenities. The air conditioning was temperamental, didn’t cool properly and made a horrible knocking and banging noise. It was cool enough that I didn’t need it, but summer would be another story. There was also a strange knocking sound that kept going through the night, and I couldn’t tell where it came from. I’d still stay here again.

Andrea and Katyuska were especially personable and dedicated, always ready to go the extra mile to help us feel comfortable and welcome. I’d gladly return if they’re still part of the team. From our first welcome onward, the service was first class. The staff looked after us throughout, handled every request warmly and professionally, and paid close attention to what we needed. It was an excellent stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

Breakfast had a very good selection, and the fresh orange juice was a nice touch. The food itself was reasonable, although a little cold. The staff welcomed us warmly and professionally, especially Ben, who was particularly attentive and went out of his way to help.

The hotel is in an excellent central spot, and the breakfast was simple but very good. Staff were friendly too. Still, it’s a tired property that needs a refurbishment. The room was freezing when we arrived because the heating wasn’t working. I reported it at reception and was told maintenance would come, but a few hours later it was still cold. After I scanned the QR code, the duty manager came up. He blamed the low outside temperature and offered another radiator, since the temporary oil heater in the room wasn’t warming it, but said there were no other rooms available. When we checked out, he remembered the complaint, apologised and said the old heating system was due to be replaced soon. Hopefully it’ll be fixed if we return after that work. The room had no sound insulation: at 5am we could hear the next room talking when they got back, and corridor doors banging were very loud. Coffee hadn’t been replenished when the room was made up. WiFi hardly connected, and when it did, no data would go through. It wasn’t just my device, so I used mobile data instead. The picture is of Piccadilly gardens. Inside, the window has modern double glazing, but the outer pane is old single glass, dirty and covered in condensation. I can see the staff are trying their best, but the owners need to start renovating before the hotel’s poor reputation sticks. I’d come back once the refurbishment is done.
