I was pretty doubtful after reading all those reviews, but my stay wasn’t like people described. I got upgraded to a private room for free, and the receptionist was lovely. The room was just the right size for two, and it was quiet. The only downside was the walk to Manchester city centre. 10/10, I’d definitely stay again!

Don’t be taken in by the photos on other websites. The place wasn’t what we expected, and the price was awful for what we got. They advertise parking, but it’s only two spots right outside on a main road, with your car sticking halfway out. There was a strange smell throughout, and you have to ring a bell to get in before being taken down to the really run down reception. The worst surprise was a £50 deposit that wasn’t mentioned anywhere we looked. Our room door handle was broken, though that wasn’t the end of the world. Inside, the room was tiny. We’d booked a king size bed, but got two single beds pushed together. The shower and sheets were dirty. I wouldn’t go back anytime soon, and the location didn’t make up for it.

The bed was small and had stains on it. The people who work there were nice, and the place did the job.

The customer service was excellent, and the staff were polite and very helpful. The room overlooked the back of the building, where there was litter, cigarette butts and fast food packaging. I’d also have felt more comfortable if cleaning and maintenance were better. There were signs of damp despite what looked like a recent redecoration.

The beds were comfortable, and although the rooms were small, they were clean. Facilities are pretty limited, but the basics were there. The staff were proper friendly, relaxed, and always happy to chat, so I felt welcome and at ease. It’s an easy short taxi or tram ride into town, so getting around wasn’t a problem. Prices are decent too, making it a good place to crash for a weekend if you’re out and about in Manchester. I’d stay again, thanks!
