The apartment was cosy and surprisingly quiet. We thought the earplugs in a tin beside the beds meant we'd hear the street and bars, but from the second floor we heard nothing. It was warm inside while people were leaving Printworks in December in sub-zero temperatures. The radiators each had their own thermostat. The location is great, right by Arndale and Printworks, and within walking distance of Victoria station. There are a few car parks nearby. The place was really clean, and all the staff were pleasant. It felt secure too, with a fob needed for the building floor and the room. The doors are heavy and the closers make them slam loudly. We could have used more milk for drinks, so next time we'll bring our own.

Our room looked out over Printworks through three windows, and the shower was lovely. The bed was very comfortable too. It's a great central spot, with a generous room and everything we needed for a night's rest. We were above a couple of clubs and it was loud, but we expected that, so no complaints.

The interior has a really original, distinctive style, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting Manchester and staying at The James hotel.

The location made getting to major attractions easy, and the building was well maintained. Friendly staff helped me feel safe and secure during my nearly year-long stay at The James. My apartment had a warm, welcoming feel, with white walls and elegant wooden floors. The sofa was comfortable for movie nights, and the kitchen had everything I needed, so it felt like home. I came away with a lot of happy memories and would highly recommend it as a cosy, convenient place to stay in Manchester. I can't wait to return.

The modern update works beautifully with the building's original structure. They took our note into account and tried to find us the room that suited us best. The location is spot on. We'll definitely be back soon.
