Sam made the evening for us. Funny, professional, and brilliant with us, they really were a star. We were seated straight away, and the whole atmosphere was fantastic. I used to come here regularly, and after a break it’s lovely to see The Ox Noble returning to its roots. The quality is top-notch. My pâté starter was delicious and a generous portion, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The menu’s smaller now, which seems to help keep the food at a high standard. If you’re going to a show at the Opera House, it’s a great spot for a pre-theatre meal. Thanks to Sam and the whole team for such a brilliant visit!

The portions were generous and everything tasted great. We had cheese croquettes to start, then the mixed grill. We booked through First Table and got 50% off, which made it very good value. A huge thanks to the two gentlemen serving us, one of whom I think was called Pete. The service was fantastic. The pub has had new owners over the past year and they’ve completely redone the menu and service. I’d definitely recommend it.

Big portions and great service. Antonis looked after us attentively and gave good suggestions for both the food and beers. The beef and ale pie was amazing, with a thin crust and juicy, tender pulled beef. Nearly licked the plate.

Our short stay was made so nice by the staff. They even arranged balloons and a cake for my daughter as a surprise, and the cake was delicious. The rooms, food, drinks, and staff were all great, and it’s a lovely place to stay. It’s in a nice area, just around the corner from the opera house theatre. We only stayed one night, but hope to come again. Thank you to all the amazing staff!

The food was all homemade, full of flavour, and served in very good portions. It wasn’t pre-cooked and microwaved, and even the cheeseboard was amazing. The pictures I took don’t do it justice. I’d highly recommend the place. We’d booked a table for four at 12.45, but arrived an hour early. Tom greeted us politely and was happy to seat us, bring menus, and let us order drinks, even though food service didn’t start until 12. He was a great host, checking we were happy without hovering. There was a really good range on the menu without it being overwhelming. I had mushroom tagliatelle with steak, which you can add for a small extra charge. My friend chose the cheese and onion pie. The two 10-year-olds had an Oxnoble burger and a classic burger, but their eyes were bigger than their bellies. For dessert, I had the egg nog panna cotta with mixed berries and honeycomb crunch. My friend had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. The boys had chocolate orange brioche pudding with strawberry ice cream instead of custard, then a hot chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream instead of salted caramel. My friend and I also shared a cheeseboard. We were hungry! We’ll definitely go back next time we’re in Manchester. Wishing everyone at the Oxnoble a happy Christmas and a fantastic New Year.
