The Four Alls Inn

We’ve been coming here for years, usually at least once a week, and we also bring family groups of up to ten. We’ve never had a long wait, a bad meal, or poor service. It’s always been quite the opposite. The home-cooked food is tasty and the portions are generous, while the regular offers and specials are great value. We recommend it to friends and family all the time. I really don’t understand the bad reviews, they seem odd.

We waited an hour and 50 minutes, and two of us still never got our meals. The rest of our large party received food at different times, so nobody at the table could eat together. We were refunded, but nobody apologised. There was just one person covering both the restaurant and bar, and they should have put on more staff if they knew a big party was coming. My hunter’s chicken was tough and overcooked, with congealed BBQ sauce. There weren’t many chips, and the ones I got were overdone and scrappy. The peas looked reheated. The service was shocking, and I won’t eat here again.

We booked for ten for Mothering Sunday lunch, and there were no complaints from us. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and nothing felt like too much trouble. There was plenty of food, with lots of meat choices for Sunday lunch, and the puddings were great too. There were other diners, though the pub wasn’t as busy as it used to be. I know the management has changed, but I’d still definitely recommend it.

We dropped in around 6:30 on Christmas Eve and were made to feel so welcome. Such a lovely start to our Christmas break. Thank you! xxx
