The bathrooms were nice, and having an en-suite was a plus. The place was clean enough and felt cared for, though there were a few grubby corners if you looked closely. It was quiet overall and close enough to the town centre. The beds were the biggest problem. They seemed narrower than doubles but wider than singles, and my wife and I, both slim, could barely fit. Parking was another issue. The listing said free parking, but there were only two spaces and both were occupied the whole time. I’d booked because of the parking, and ended up paying to use a dodgy car park five minutes away with my expensive vehicle. The doors to the other flats slammed late at night and shook our flat. Guests had to slam them because the security system wouldn’t close them otherwise, so I don’t blame them, but the noise at 11pm was unacceptable. The kitchen also lacked basics like an oven mitt and kitchen towel, and the washing sponge was quite dirty.

Lovely, clean apartments that felt quiet, safe and secure, and the location was fantastic. They had all the modern conveniences, including a TV, washing machine and freezer. There are a couple of free parking spaces at the back if you’re lucky. Highly recommend.

I’d booked this apartment back in 2020 and got a good rate for the bank holiday weekend by booking so far ahead. I kept in touch with the accommodation regularly, and everything seemed fine. Then, at 10:30pm, just three days before check-in, they messaged to say my booking was cancelled, without explaining why. I’ve tried contacting them several times without success. Booking.Com confirmed it wasn’t an error on their side, and that the apartment had cancelled without a valid reason. Now there’s nowhere available for us to stay over the bank holiday, so we can’t attend our ticketed event. Emmanuel Church Apartments have shown sheer unprofessionalism. I haven’t had a refund, apology or reasonable explanation. Avoid!

It’s a beautiful building in a great location, but the layout in both flats we stayed in was odd. The kitchen and lounge seemed the wrong way round, as if they could only fit the kitchens in a straight line. The attention to detail felt lacking.

Clean, cosy and comfortable, with a good spot in Warrington. You’re close to nightlife but it stays quiet. If God makes you spend a long stretch in Warrington for your sins, this is certainly one of the better places to do it.
