For our family of four, the stay was great. The rooms were good and the price excellent. We stayed on 25th Dec, and the room felt cold when we first arrived in the evening, but turning up the heater temperature sorted it out. We left our mobile power bank charger behind. Reception were very helpful when we called, and our friend picked it up the next day. I was very happy about that.

The family room was clean and fine for sleeping and bathing, though I wouldn't want to spend too much time in it. That suited us because we were out and about. It was good value, and faster Internet is available for a fee. Check-in was easy, and late checkout can be arranged for a fee. The location doesn't look the best, but we couldn't hear the motorway from the room.

The staff were all extremely friendly, the bed was comfy, and we got two good night's sleep. The location was just right for what we needed. From the outside, the hotel looks rundown, beside a derelict, boarded-up service station and a stripped-out petrol station. The car park has huge potholes. Our room needed a good clean too: thick dust covered the walls, and someone had drawn pictures in it 😂

The free parking and the in-room kettle with tea and coffee were welcome, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. Those are the only reasons I gave this place two stars instead of one. We got in late after a long drive, tired and hoping for somewhere decent to rest. Instead, the hotel felt dated and worn out, like it had been stuck in the 1990s and badly needed refurbishment. It brought to mind a budget motel in Eastern Europe decades ago. Watching TV in bed, I half expected an old Fa soap commercial to appear. Those who know, know. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Travelodge needs to update this location. It's well below what modern travellers expect, even from a budget hotel.

If you're after somewhere cheap to stay, you've hit the jackpot. The room was average, with beds that were a bit hard. It's also not the easiest place to reach, as the area is fairly dark.
