Florence Nightingale Suites at Lea Hurst

Our large suite was spotless and had a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room, and balcony. The house is tucked behind three gates in a wonderful spot, with lovely views across the Derwent valley from the lounges and some bedrooms. Svitlana was an excellent host, and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. I’d love to come back when we’re next in the area. Thank you.

Svitlana was such a kind, attentive host, and we felt right at home. We came away feeling thoroughly refreshed after our weekend. The Honeymoon suite was immaculate, with a separate lounge opening onto a balcony overlooking the Derbyshire countryside, plus a bedroom and a five-star bathroom with an amazing shower and high-end toiletries. Breakfast was cooked perfectly each morning. We also loved the artefacts and history connected with Florence Nightingale, which made the stay feel special. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, and other Peak District spots were close by. We’re already thinking about booking again for summer. Thank you, Svitlana. Ananth and Suzanne

Svitlana is a wonderful host, and the breakfasts are delicious. The gardens are fantastic, too. The house is comfortable and luxurious, set in beautiful countryside with plenty of historical interest. We hope to return.

Svitlana made us feel so welcome for my husband’s birthday, with thoughtful extras including a bottle of wine, a card, and an apple cake. The delicious breakfast was another treat, and in the evenings she lit the log burners, making everything warm and cosy. We’ve just returned from a long weekend at the Florence Nightingale suites, and what a fabulous place. The historic house and grounds are beautifully appointed, with lots of mementoes and artwork from Florence’s time there.
