Holmefield Country Guest House

We had six adults, three children under eight and two babies, with ample room for everyone. The property was clean, had WiFi and a well stocked kitchen, and made a good base for exploring the area. Parking was the only drawback. The guidance about fitting three cars per property was hard to follow unless the neighbours were compatible, though there's more space behind the property.

There are lots of bedrooms and plenty of space in this clean, nice house. The parking doesn't really match how many guests it can sleep, though. We also found it a bit hard to locate and had to stop at a local restaurant to ask the way.

The owner was a lovely, helpful guy, and the house worked really well for our family holiday with children and grandchildren. There's plenty of room inside, good parking and a fantastic back garden. I had the amazing master suite. We went during the hottest week of the year so far, so the top floor bedrooms were warm, as you'd expect, but it didn't spoil our holiday. The bunk bed room could use a blackout blind, since it was very bright in summer for the kids' bedtime. The location was good for Matlock, Buxton and Bakewell. We visited hights of abrsham.

The house was very small. The owner accused me and my friends of taking things from it, though we had pictures that proved otherwise.
