Premier Inn Matlock

The staff were the highlight: everyone was welcoming and helpful, especially Tara, the lovely restaurant waitress who did her best to cater for our requirements. The food was generally very good, though it's a pity the chips are oven baked instead of fried. You can tell the difference. I paid only £45 for a Sunday night, usually the best value night at chain hotels. The room was clean and comfortable, as I'd expect at Premier Inn. It was a very happy stay overall. Just note the mobile signal here is very weak.

The room was really comfortable, and even though you can't open the windows, the air conditioning worked well through a heatwave and made for a good night's sleep. We stayed towards the end of May while touring by motorbike. The staff were very helpful, breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant's 'meal and breakfast deal' was a great deal.

After a long day, Abi welcomed us and looked after us with a nice meal. I slept very well again, and made the most of the excellent breakfast choice, with fresh fruit and cooked options. Great value and service, and plenty of free parking onsite. Thank you, we'd recommend it.

We've booked Premier Inns for twenty years and have usually had excellent service, from check-in to check-out, and confidence in the room being clean. We've stayed at this Matlock, Derbyshire Premier Inn before and were happy then, but our visit on the 20th feb fell short. Check-in was very slow, and the room wasn't ready by the promised 3.00 pm time. When asked to pay in advance for dinner and breakfast, the lady tried to book them separately, and I had to ask for the deal. The bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned properly, and the bedding had what looked like small blood stains in three different places. Restaurant service was inconsistent, though the gentleman working there was very attentive. We didn't report it because it was a short stay. We usually visit annually, but I'm not sure we'll return to Matlock.
