The room made it easy to get a good night’s sleep: it was clean and cosy, with an ensuite, effective blackout curtains, a hot shower, and hardly any traffic noise. I was in the area for work and the bus stop was right across the road, with a roughly 20-minute ride into town. On a cold, wet evening, Morton welcomed me warmly, helped with my bags, and explained the room and facilities. He also suggested places for dinner. I spent a quiet while in the dining room with coffee and homemade cake on lovely china, watching the sunset. I was the only guest that night, so there was plenty of space. I felt looked after while still having room to myself. For my early work bus, Una and Morton arranged breakfast at 7:15. There was fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt, then a well-cooked breakfast with coffee and orange juice. It set me up nicely for the morning. Thoughtful hosts and a peaceful stay at Ardwell B&B. I’d gladly come back.

We slept well in a quiet neighbourhood, though the town centre was still an easy walk away. The room and ensuite were spotless, warm, and well equipped, with useful extras like extra pillows and blankets, plus a seating area with a TV. Morton and Una gave us a friendly welcome and shared sightseeing suggestions suited to what we wanted to see further afield. Breakfast was a treat: a Scottish meal made with good ingredients, with cereals, fresh fruit, and yoghurt to choose from. We’d recommend staying here to friends and family, and hope to return. Thanks for having us!
Breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed. Una and Morton made us feel welcome throughout. A lovely B&B, and we’ll definitely book again.
After nine days on the road, the care and attention here were just what we needed. It felt like a quiet, cosy home away from home, and we both really enjoyed the breakfast. Mauchline is a beautiful, peaceful village to walk around at sunrise or sunset. The owners are kind people, and we loved who they are as much as the place itself. My wife thanked me for bringing her here, which says a lot. We’re grateful we got to stay, and would happily return. Thank you both.
A welcoming home from home, with hosts who were so helpful and accommodating. We hope to stay again on our next visit to the area. Thanks, Una and Morton, and hope you got the painting finished 🙂. Best wishes from Gill & Martin
