We were holidaying in the area from Australia, and the owner of our B&B suggested this pub. Really glad we took her advice, the meal was fantastic. The timber furnishings caught my eye too. If you’re nearby and hungry, it’s well worth a visit.

Really friendly, quick service, good prices and fantastic food. The place is lovely inside, with a wood fire at the bar. There’s outdoor seating for warmer days, though we didn’t use it, and a big car park.

A cosy little pub with hearty home-cooked food and a warm, local feel. Don’t expect phone signal, which makes it a nice place to sit and talk like people used to. The sundaes are amazing too.

There were loads of options across the menus, and everything we ate was fresh, tasty and well cooked. The staff were pleasant, the service was good, and the place had a lovely warm, friendly atmosphere. We had a really nice meal at the Stair Inn and will visit again.

A lovely, quiet little hotel and coaching inn. The room was clean and comfortable, though I still had a restless night despite the brand-new mattress. Dave, the proprietor, was very welcoming. The bar has a log burner, and both it and the restaurant have great decor. The food was great too.
