The team made this stay feel personal and cared for. Magnus, the General Manager, was especially kind when he noticed I was having a stressful day. He offered me a complimentary glass of wine and took the time to have a really nice chat with me, which brightened my evening. Amy and Marta at reception, along with Tamas the office manager, were consistently welcoming, friendly and helpful. Every interaction felt warm and genuine, and the staff's professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile made a real difference. I highly recommend the hotel and will definitely stay again next time I'm in Reading.

For a quick business trip or a few nights, the city-centre location is hard to beat. Breakfast was a tasty English spread that I enjoyed, and the staff were the best part of the place. Mr. Shibin Varghese at reception went out of his way to make me comfortable and was very accommodating. Ms. Paula and Melanie in the breakfast area were always prompt, cheerful and helpful. I stayed at the Ibis Reading Centre for two months, from September to November 2025, and found some things difficult for a longer visit. The rooms are small for the price, with no in-room safe or proper closet, and the hotel has neither an in-house restaurant nor laundry facilities. Those missing basics made the extended stay a challenge. I'd happily return for a short stay, but I hope they add more guest conveniences for people staying longer.

After 13 hours of travel, I was too exhausted to complain that night. I paid 130e for a single room that felt shabby and badly dated, with an old AC and a sort of ship cabin feel. The couch was dirty, with what looked like puke stains, and there were marks by the bed and on the bathroom handle. The bathroom smelled like a gutter, so I chose not to shower. It was clearly a wheelchair-accessible room, but the bed was so close that getting into the bathroom could be hard in an electric wheelchair. The toilet handle was difficult to reach and not accessible at all. There was also a door to another room that I couldn't close from my side. The desk was in front of it, but I pushed it closer anyway because the setup felt stressful. There were a few good things: a nice view from the 14th floor, a clean, warm and comfortable bed, a clean kettle and a nice selection of tea and coffee. The soap smelled good, and I liked the wall painting. The breakfast area was clean and modern, with different milk alternatives and gluten-free cereal, and the staff were very friendly. Next time I'll spend more on a proper hotel.

I have mobility issues, and the two women on reception Saturday evening were incredibly helpful. They brought me a chair while we checked in and gave us an accessible room on the first floor by the lift. I’m sorry I don't know their names. It was those thoughtful details that made a difference. Thank you from both of us.

The hotel is right in the centre of Reading, about two minutes from the train station and the airport shuttle stop. The reception staff were very welcoming, and the young woman looking after the breakfast buffet did a wonderful job and was very friendly. I'd recommend booking with breakfast. It was a clean, pleasant hotel, and we had a relaxing stay.
