The Toll House

The restaurant was amazing value, with good quality food cooked well, and breakfast was just as good. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and enjoyed some great banter with the locals. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and it's handy for the Abbey and shops, with on-street parking nearby. I'll certainly come back. My only very small criticism is that the room decor was starting to look a bit tired, though it was clean and comfortable. Nothing a lick of paint wouldn't fix.

They kept our bikes in the restaurant overnight, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had a really comfy room, a tasty evening meal and perfect poached eggs for breakfast. Excellent place to stay.

The Station Hotel was clean, with a good atmosphere and really good service. We'd looked at a couple of other places, but kept seeing 'string fries' with the meals. Good grief, what is that all about? I'm going back for the proper, nice chunky chips! We haven't been to a good old-fashioned pub for ages because we hadn't found a decent one. The staff were lovely, the food was very nice, the lasagna tasty and the fish and chips great. The garlic bread was a little overdone for my liking, but it didn't spoil the meal. The plates were nice and warm for serving the food. We had lunch at the restaurant, and I'll be back.

We stopped in at random for food, the first place we passed after coming off the Eildon Hills. Glad we did. The burgers were tremendous and good value, nothing like that at that price in Edinburgh. Friendly service, and I'd visit again.
