Quorn Lodge Hotel

The room was really good, with a huge bed and plenty of furniture. It was about a ten-minute walk into town for restaurants, cafes and bars, but far enough out to stay quiet. It was also close to the venue I was visiting, and check-in was quick and efficient.

My partner and I were treated very badly by the staff. They were really rude, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel or stay there again.

This room needs a full refurbishment. The wallpaper was peeling, there were holes in the walls, and the loose carpet was a trip hazard. The place felt tired and neglected. The shower was too low, and figuring out how to use it felt like cracking a safe.

We were looking for somewhere else to stay by 2am on our first night. The place smelled terrible, the staff were rude and unhelpful, and my partner was bitten. The walls were damp and our things stuck to the surfaces. The bathroom felt like a health hazard: there was a step down to the shower that you couldn't see, and the door blocked the light switch, so you had to walk into the shower area, shut the door, then turn on the light. I nearly broke my neck trying to find it. The hotel was dirty, damp and dangerous, and £200 for two nights felt like a rip-off. I understand that people dealing with addiction or homelessness need somewhere to go, but that doesn't make the state of this place or the price okay. I've travelled all over the world, including many third-world countries, and this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
