We stayed one night in Mere and had a lovely meal here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. A friendly man greeted us as we came into the restaurant. The young blonde waitress was absolutely delightful, very welcoming and so friendly. I didn’t get her name, but she was great with our little pug, who was welcomed and given treats too. We’d highly recommend the restaurant and would go again.

We booked Sunday lunch at short notice for 12 adults, four children, and two babies. The team couldn’t have been more accommodating. The carvery was fabulous, and our grandchildren really enjoyed the kids’ menu. All the food came out together, and the Walnut Tree team were attentive to all our needs. We’ll definitely be back. Well done!

They managed to fit all 17 of us in, even though we only decided the day before to go out for my son's birthday. I’d assumed Sunday would make it impossible because of carveries. The food and service were fantastic, especially Simon and the two young ladies who served us on March 8th. They stayed calm and were very polite. There’s parking just outside, which was an extra bonus for the children. Thanks again, we’d definitely recommend it.

The service was good, and the Yorkshire puddings were outstanding. The meats were delicious, with a good choice of vegetables. I did find it a little more expensive than other carveries I’ve visited, and the roast potatoes and very thin, tasteless gravy let it down.

A good place to stop for lunch on the way down to Devon or Cornwall. There’s plenty of space inside and out, and the staff are friendly. The food was good too. It’s also known for the occasional member of the Royal family dropping in for a burger.
