The Shed

The cabin is a good size, with two sets of bunks in one corner and a sofa that opens into a double bed. It sleeps six, and I think there was a fold-up bed under one of the bunks, so perhaps seven, but check first. There’s a wall-mounted TV with a Sky TV box and Firestick, plus a drawer full of DVDs. The bathroom is a decent size and the electric shower is easy to use and excellent. Breakfast supplies are in the kitchen, along with plenty of tea, coffee, and milk. I found everything I needed in the drawers, which is why I added all the photos I took. I parked my motorbike on the decking by the front door, which gave me peace of mind. There may be a garden accessible from the side door, though I didn’t go out there. It’s set in the front “garden” of a house on the hillside above the Heolgerrig suburb of Merthyr Tydfil, overlooking the town. My satnav sent me down a little private driveway behind the venue, where a friendly neighbour, Howard, pointed me the right way and chatted with me about the area. A proper Welsh welcome. At the right address, Lynne, the very friendly owner, showed me around. One of the best places I’ve stayed.
