We really liked the food in the pub downstairs, good portions, quality ingredients and fantastic taste. The apartment above it was spacious, clean and nicely decorated, with its own entrance and two separate bedrooms. There’s a bathroom and a central area with a fridge, kettle and a few breakfast bits: milk, yogurts, bottled water, orange juice, cereal and pain au chocolate. You can hear a little from the pub, but it wasn’t too bad and it shut at 10pm. Road noise was more noticeable in the morning. The Buck hotel was a great place to stay, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

We had a nice meal and the service was good. The busy restaurant was quite dark in one section, which wasn’t ideal. You’ll need to book, and the location by the stream in Great Ayton is lovely.
