We live just around the corner and have eaten here several times, but after this meal we won't be back. The service left us very unhappy. When we went to pay, nobody apologized for the mistakes or offered to adjust the bill, and the Restaurant Supervisor seemed irritated by my slow pace. We didn't even get a thank you or goodbye. There were six of us, but the vegetables were meagre: two tiny pots of creamed leeks, about a teaspoon each, and one small dish of veg. When I asked for more, I was told there'd be a charge, and only a little arrived, without any leeks. Two of us also had to ask for the Yorkshire puddings that had been missed, and they only came near the end of the meal. They said they'd run out of oat milk for my latte, though they found enough for one cup. Three of us are dairy intolerant, so we missed out on coffee. The supervisor was abrupt and a little rude, while the staff seemed sullen and unfriendly. I felt sorry for the waiter and waitress, who looked unhappy at work.

We chose the golf course-facing rooms because we wanted a quieter stay, and they were definitely quiet. The rooms were very clean, and we liked the fairly firm beds. Parking was ample, and it's easy to get to Glastonbury, Frome, or Bath. Vicki and Jenny at reception were exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and helpful, and the service was very good. We'll definitely stay again if we're in the area.

A big thank you to the two wonderful women at reception and the gentleman who was night manager. The staff went well beyond what they needed to do for me and my partner, and I'm sincerely grateful. We had a fantastic stay and will come back in the future. I'd recommend this hotel to everyone.

The restaurant made it easy to stay in each evening. The staff and food were good, and I really enjoyed eating there. I had the cheese and bacon burger with skin-on fries, as well as the ham, egg, and chunky chips from the evening menu. Breakfast had a great choice of fruit and cereals, plus you could order a fried breakfast. My room was good quality, with free WiFi, a hair dryer, a rainfall shower, a large TV with built-in apps including games and YouTube, and a comfortable big bed with several pillows to choose from. The hotel was quiet and looked well kept. I came for a work event in Bristol and picked it because the reviews were good and it looked appealing. It didn't disappoint. I also used the gym every day, which had excellent machines and was a very high standard. One letdown: when I visited in April 2026 the swimming pool was closed. Google Maps showed a pool, and it was one of the reasons I chose the hotel. The hotel overlooks the golf course, making a lovely setting, with views from the restaurant windows.

The rooms are a bit dated and the building shows its age in places, but everything was clean and airy, and the rooms were cosy enough. The staff really made us feel welcome. Vikki was especially helpful, offering advice about the area and sorting plates and cutlery for takeaway dinners when we arrived at odd hours for work. It's a lovely, quiet hotel, and we'll stay again.
