Brockwood Hall

Those mornings with the peacocks, birds, and squirrels were my favourite, especially while I was unwinding in the hot tub. The lodge had lovely views across the landscape and was thoughtfully equipped, including the sauna and hot tub. We spent four days here with the family and dogs and came away feeling really relaxed. The bar and restaurant on site are worth a visit too. The food was hearty, the staff made us feel welcome, and it was great that the dogs were welcome as well. We'd definitely return.

The area is gorgeous, and the peacocks are a lot of fun to watch. We had a clean cabin with a hot tub that was checked every day, plus a restaurant on site. Shops for anything else you need are about a 10-minute drive away. There's plenty to see nearby, though you could happily spend the whole holiday here too. We'll definitely be back.

We visited in the second week of November 2025, and the kids loved walking around the peacocks. Each cabin has its own view, which gives the place a fresh feel. Our two days here gave us a lovely break from busy life. I was completely satisfied with the facilities and how well everything was maintained. I'd gladly recommend it for a family get-together.

The outdoor space was well cared for, and the hot tub was nice, though there's no cover if it rains. There are pleasant walks a drive away, but the place is otherwise quite secluded. We stayed five nights. The lodge was clean when we arrived, but a closer look showed it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. Our dog's ball rolled under the sofa and came back covered in dust and debris, as if nobody had cleaned underneath. The shower was decent, but our smaller cabin felt cramped even with just my wife, our dog, and me. It's advertised for four, but I think it would suit two better, with part of one bedroom turned into more living space. I'd return, just not to one of the smaller cabins.
