Breakfast had a good spread of fruit, cereals and juice, as well as a cooked menu. Our room was clean, nicely presented and had everything we needed. We were lucky to get one at the front of The Greyhound Inn, overlooking the beautiful village pond. I’m so glad my husband and I chose this lovely, cosy pub for a mini break. The staff were all friendly and polite, and service was quick and efficient. We tried the pub food while we were there, and it was outstanding. We had pork belly with mash, steak and ale pie, and my favourite, beef brisket with mash, vegetables, chips and gravy. It was absolutely delicious. The chef’s a genius. I’d recommend The Greyhound Inn to anyone, confident they wouldn’t be disappointed.

We stopped for Saturday lunch at The Greyhound in the picturesque village of Aldbury. We’ve been before and it’s always lovely, with a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Venison was on the special menu. It looked beautifully presented and was cooked perfectly, with complimentary vegetables and sauce. Bravo, chef, and thank you.

The smoked haddock croquettes made a great starter, and my beef brisket with mash was delicious and very filling. Two others in our group really enjoyed the duck breast, and the Bakewell tart was impossible to resist. The food is always good quality, so choosing can be difficult. It’s a lovely country pub in a beautiful village, and it’s always a favourite for us. The staff are friendly and professional, attentive without rushing you. We’ll be back again and again!

We were amazed by how relaxed the pub felt, even with every table taken. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and the staff stayed calm, cheerful and quick throughout. We never felt hurried. The slow-cooked pork roast was so tender it fell apart, and the portions were generous without being too much. They also cater for coeliacs, which is a real help and shows how much care goes into the food. We tried the sticky toffee pudding and crème brulée even though we hadn't planned on dessert, and both were fantastic. We came for Sunday lunch and The Greyhound Inn turned out to be a proper village pub with food and service that surpassed what we expected. Book ahead to avoid disappointment. We'll be back.

We were late for our lunch booking after getting held up by roadworks on a cycle ride. The staff greeted us warmly and let us know, politely, that the kitchen was close to shutting. Fair enough, we were late. They took our orders and served a range of home-cooked dishes. Everything we tried was excellent, including bacon, Brie and cranberry sandwiches, pork with mash and the vegetarian platter. The service was outstanding, and one lovely staff member stayed until the end to check we were all alright. Based on this visit, I'd thoroughly recommend it. 👍
