The setting is stunning, and the beach is an easy walk from the cottage. Emiko suggested a walk for Sunday, which was helpful, and our family of five had a great weekend here. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening. The food was very nice and the service really friendly. Communication with Emiko was great too, and there’s an app to help make the stay go smoothly. We’d happily stay at Wayside Cottage again :)

The enclosed garden was great for our dogs, and there’s plenty of room inside this old cottage. It has lots of character while still being comfortable. With the beach right nearby and walks starting at the door, the location worked really well. There’s plenty to see locally, and the rest of the Lake District is easy to reach. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, and knew a lot about the area and whisky. We also had a wonderful tasting in the Whisky Barn next door one evening, very handy! We spent an enjoyable few days at Wayside Cottage and I can thoroughly recommend a visit.

We stayed at Wayside Cottage with my parents and our dog Bonnie. It’s clean, spacious but cosy, and in a great spot, with walks straight from the door. The nearby beaches are beautiful, quiet and wide, lovely for a walk or run, and the cottage made a good base for exploring more of the lakes. Before you arrive, you get useful tips on places to go and things to do. The owners were welcoming and happy to help while we were there. We also recommend eating at Wayside, the food was delicious and filling. Thanks for a brilliant stay. There was so much to see and do, so we’ll have to come back one day.

The cottage is stunning and well equipped, but my favourite part was playing games beside the roaring fire. We came for a mini break between Christmas and New Year and had a fantastic time with the family. The beach and coastline are only five minutes away, and we enjoyed plenty of walks there to clear the cobwebs. Emiko was very welcoming, easy to deal with and great at communicating. We can’t wait to return in summer and enjoy it in warmer weather too.

A great place to get away from pollution, busy cities and offices for a break. The owners are kind and very helpful. The cottage feels like heaven, clean, comfortable and well equipped, with lots of places to explore nearby. There’s a shop about a 10 minute drive away. One of my favourites. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
