Abbey Guest House

This was the cheapest guest house near Milton Keynes I could find, and it does the job. The twin room had two child-sized beds and towels to match, plus a tiny en-suite. There was a microwave and KFS, and an old TV, but no fridge. You get what you pay for.

It’s beside a busy road, so there was a bit of noise, though it didn’t bother me. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The location worked well for visiting bletchley park, and the room was clean. The beds weren’t very comfortable. The bathroom needs cleaning and redecorating, and a new shower head. The ventilation grille on the shower ceiling was dirty, which put us off using it.

I barely slept because of the noise. Doors slammed through the night, people talked loudly outside the rooms, and the noise from outside was really loud too. There was nobody around to speak to about it, which made the whole experience dreadful. The bathroom floor had cracked tiles and there was mould in the shower. The bedding seemed unwashed and the pillows were very old. The shower did have good hot water, which was a shame given everything else. I’d booked because I was running the MK half marathon, but I’ll never stay here again.
