Travelodge Milton Keynes Central

Reception staff were efficient, polite, and welcoming, and the location and parking are convenient, though the spaces are tight even for a medium-sized car. The room was clean but basic and cold, with a window that didn’t seal properly. The air-con was quite loud, and I found the cool blue decor more like a medical institution than a cosy room. You can hear TVs in other rooms, though the shower was okay. The Wi-Fi was so slow it was practically unusable, then you have to pay after 30 minutes. They should either make it work or remove it as a facility. Mobile reception inside was poor too, so that wasn’t much of an alternative.

The room is very basic, which is fair for the price, but the bathroom dispenser was out of soap and the shower drain overflowed. Even so, the stay was great value. A good buffet breakfast rounded it off, and Kelly and Ricky deserve a mention for keeping it fresh and well stocked. The customer service was amazing, and I’d happily stay again.

We’d booked a quiet room on floor 7, so this was disappointing. The room was too hot and we had to open the window, which meant customers at the slug & lettuce woke us during the night. We asked for a fan at 9pm, but the security guard said they didn’t have any. There were no reception staff there.

It’s much like other Travelodge sites. The bar selection was poor, and breakfast was reasonable. My main issue was the large multi-storey car park: the only free spaces were on level 11, and there was no lift.
