The recent visit was just for a meal with friends, with drinks at the bar beforehand. Fourteen had a great atmosphere, exceptional food at a good price, and polite, friendly and helpful staff in both the restaurant and bar. The restaurant and bar are on the top floor, and the views across Milton Keynes at breakfast are amazing. The hotel is modern in style, and breakfast is served at Fourteen. I’d recommend the restaurant, bar and hotel, and hope to return soon. I first stayed in April 2022, when it had just opened, for a week while we were living in France and visiting family in Milton Keynes. There were six of us, so we booked three rooms: one for my wife and me, a double for our two children, and one for my in-laws. As some of the first guests, we ran into a few opening problems. A bathroom leak meant we changed rooms, then a faulty keycard meant we moved again. The lift and room floor keycard access also had issues. Still, we had an amazing stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I expect they’ve sorted those early problems out by now.

The location is handy, right beside the shopping centre, but my second night was awful. I woke up to a bed bug on my pillow. I was checking out early, so I told staff then and gave them my number after they said they’d contact me. Nobody ever got in touch. I dusted off my clothes before packing because I didn’t want to bring anything home. I found another bug on the curtain, and I’ve attached photos. They’re definitely bed bugs. There’s another complaint below about them, so it seems they know about the problem and haven’t fixed it.

Parking was easy, since the restaurant is next to the main car park for central Milton Keynes shopping centre. You pay when you return, so there’s no rush back to the car. We ate there rather than staying at the hotel, and the view across Milton Keynes from the 14th floor is lovely. Our three-course Christmas fayre was delicious, and the helpful, polite staff made the service faultless. We’d definitely visit again.

Breakfast with that view was unreal, and the room was stunning, worth every penny. My partner and I stayed for my 22nd birthday and had the most amazing time. I can’t recommend this place enough. We had the best experience and will definitely come back.
