I've wanted to stay here for ages, after having food at this gorgeous little Hotel many years ago. The owner called while we were driving to ask about our meal plans, which was really considerate since we were arriving on a Sunday. We booked a table, and the food was comforting, with the owner and staff all very friendly. The Hotel was warm and incredibly clean. So nice to see an Independent family run Hotel doing such a good job.

We had a lovely Sunday Roast, and the food was excellent with generous portions. The staff were pleasant and accommodating, and they looked after the 2 year old in our group really well.

We had a superb evening meal in the bar, with lovely starters and a great atmosphere. The Beef rump and pan fried Venison were astounding for flavour and presentation, and the vegetables were prepared perfectly. The staff were lovely, the real ale was well kept, and the hotel was very welcoming. Highly recommend.

We used to love coming here for dinner, but the menu seems to have been completely changed and cut down. The food was nowhere near last year's standard: greasy battered fish and a greasy chicken burger. Scampi, the delicious gammon steak and the daily Specials are all gone. Not sure if the chef has left or if they're cutting back on quality, but I was disappointed. At least the chips were good.

We booked online while passing through Moffat for a family get-together, and our group of 10 sat upstairs. The place is long and narrow as advertised, a bit quirky but very welcoming. There was a good choice of food, including vegetarian, children's and gf options, plus a nice range of drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even suggested places to see. We'd definitely recommend it and come back next time we're in the area.
