Beaufort Park Hotel

I was there to perform for one evening, and the friendly people and staff made it a real pleasure. Guests told me they were enjoying both the accommodation and restaurant food. I understand they often have entertainment on Saturday evenings, so it sounds like a good option for a weekend or even a week away.

Our room was very clean and a reasonable standard, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Dinner had a good range of choices, and breakfast was fresh and made with good quality ingredients. The room was bitterly cold when we arrived. We switched on the wall heater straight away, but it took several hours to warm up. I couldn't take off my coat and scarf until halfway through dinner. I understand heating is expensive, though in really cold weather it might help to turn it on a couple of hours before guests arrive. I'd come back, just perhaps not in the coldest months.

I went to Beaufort park hotel for lunch and got a parking fine weeks later because apparently you have to register your car in the car park. I was told it would be cancelled, but today, 27/5/26, I received a second letter about it. They've assured me again that it's been cancelled. Another chap there had the same problem, and plenty of people seem to be in the same boat. Visitors, beware.

Mar26. The evening meal was good and the staff serving it were friendly, but I won't be returning. There were various stains on the bedroom walls and several hairs on the bedding. Plumbing made noise in the early hours, the electric shower wouldn't turn on, and the taps stayed cold even after running for many minutes. There was rust on the bathroom walls and bath around the shower grab rail (see photo). When I reported it to reception, they asked, “did you ring maintenance?” Unbelievable. Breakfast was seven minutes late. The cooked option was reasonable, but the machine coffee was undrinkable.
