We stayed at Ty Cerrig for a week recently. It’s a lovely cottage and handy for getting to places around North Wales, but a few things didn’t work for me. The bed was really uncomfortable. The mattress feels worn out, with dips you can feel. I also think the heating should come on earlier in the morning because the cottage takes a while to warm up. My feet got very cold at night, so bring slippers if you stay. The bath is very small and not much good for a relaxing soak, and the hot water runs out quickly, leaving only about half a bath filled. It might suit older couples better than a young family. Sorry, but I don’t think we’ll stay again.

The owner was great at communicating and explained everything we needed to know. We arrived to a spotless home and enjoyed three nights away with my two friends and dog. The stone cottage sits in beautiful scenery, with plenty of places to visit nearby. We recommend Loggerheads country park for walks with the dog. It’s a great location, though I think you need a car. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and could do with being replaced, as could the mattress on the lovely king-size bed. In my opinion, Ty Carrig isn’t really for four people. I’d say two adults and a child. Wi-Fi might be a nice addition too. Those are my only negatives, and we really enjoyed the stay. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a few days to get away and relax.
