We ate in the beautiful sunny beer garden on an early Saturday evening, with warm, really friendly staff and locals around us. The drinks were lovely, and the food was pretty damn amazing. The tiger prawns and chorizo starter in Thai sauce with hot fresh bread was the standout, absolutely amazing, they should bottle and sell that sauce. Honestly, everything we had was faultless: prawns, calamari, white bait, pork chop, pork belly with star anise carrot that was out of this world, and lamb shoulder with mash. For the quality and setting, the prices are a steal. Fantastic meal at the Phelips arms. Give it a try, I'm sure you won't leave disappointed.

We found the perfect lunch spot while visiting Montacute House. The welcome was very friendly, the Real Ales selection was excellent, and the Menu looked enticing. The food was delicious and everyone was brilliant. Definitely worth eating here if you're in the area. Thank you Kelly 🙂

My sister and I stayed at The Phelips Arms for the weekend while visiting family, and we'll definitely stay again. Zoe the landlady made us feel so welcome, and Kelly gave us directions. Our twin room was exceptionally comfortable and clean, and breakfast there was excellent. We'd highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Nick and Zoe are such welcoming hosts. The rooms are cozy, with real cotton sheets, and the food is good and all freshly cooked. There's glorious countryside right on the doorstep. Great pub, what's not to like?

The staff were welcoming and attentive, with the log fire roaring in the background. Under the new ownership, my partner and I thought we'd give it a try, and the quality of the food was outstanding across the starter, main and dessert. No doubt we'll be back very soon.
