Morecambe Rooms

The staff were friendly, but the room had a stale smell despite looking clean. The mattress was uncomfortable, and noise from the bar downstairs was a problem.

The place needs a few repairs, though none affected our stay. The rooms and bedding were clean and tidy, and the people running it were friendly and helpful. It’s a handy location for everything, with parking not far away. You get what you pay for, and no, it’s not the Ritz. I found it more positive than the other reviews suggest.

The flat itself was good, with all the basic facilities. I’d give the two-bedroom apartment 8/10. But we ended up paying a £70 parking fine. We parked outside the apartment after the receptionist said it was fine, then found a ticket early the next morning. The advert says parking is available but doesn’t explain that street parking is paid.

Right by the beach, The Morecambe Rooms was spotless, with everything looking brand new, perhaps it had just been refurbished. My apartment had a nice lounge, a sofa, two chairs, a fully fitted kitchen and a big flat-screen TV with Freeview. Both double bedrooms had large TVs as well. There’s no bath, but the shower was enormous, and the bathroom was immaculate. My apartment looked out over extractor fans rather than a pleasant view, and you might hear them with the windows open in summer. Breakfast isn’t included, though you can make your own or find plenty of places serving a full English within a three-minute walk. I’d say it’s a great option for a reasonably priced night’s stay.
