We loved exploring the South West Coast Path and the beaches, especially Kynance cove, which is a must visit. Just be careful at Goonhilly: our dog was bitten by a snake there, and we spent a worrying afternoon at the vets. Thankfully she was okay and is recovering. Kober house looked great when we arrived. It was clean, tidy and well equipped, and I have to mention the soft, fluffy white towels and nice crisp bedding. The upstairs shower sometimes didn’t get hot, though, and that bathroom wasn’t very usable. The toilet sits under a low ceiling, while the tiny sink is blocked by the wall cabinet, so it was only good for washing hands. The downstairs shower room also smelled damp. The garden could use some attention. Weeds were coming through the shingle, the AstroTurf needed sweeping, and the furniture wasn’t great. There were only two cushions for eight chairs, and a couple of sun loungers would have been a nice addition. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. The space for Kober house is tight with a big car, and a bush gets in the way when reversing out. My car doesn’t have a great turning circle, so getting out was quite difficult. Even with those drawbacks, we enjoyed the stay.

The kitchen was well equipped, and the beds were comfortable with good showers. The house was clean and nice, though it felt a little clinical. The bathroom door doesn’t work properly, and the electronic front door lock is really annoying because it keeps talking to you. The village was okay, but the pub had a kitchen fire and wasn’t serving food, while the curry place was closed for winter.

We really enjoyed our time here. I had flowers delivered yesterday for my birthday, but we’d already left, so I left them behind the back gate for the owners. If they see this and are local, they can collect them there. It was a great stay!
