They let us use their facilities while we went for a walk, and even though we got back later than expected, they still found a way to serve us after the kitchen had closed. The food was unbelievably good and well priced. Everyone was welcoming from the start, and the staff's kindness and hospitality have made us regulars. My partner and I are so grateful. We'll definitely be back. Thank you!

The views outside were lovely, and inside the pub was clean and cosy. We stopped for a Sunday roast after walking nearby, without booking, but they had space for us. The staff were really friendly, and we all enjoyed our meals.

That sweet potato pie was absolutely gorgeous, a first for me. My friend had the lamb stew and apparently really liked it too. We stopped at Mill Inn @Mungrisdale around 3 pm after hiking the fells behind the pub, hoping for a drink and maybe food, and they were still serving. The menu had vegan options as well. Since it’s a Robinsons pub, we expected good beer, and there was plenty of parking. Inside, there was a little log burner and lots of festive spirit. I’ll pop in again next time I’m in the area.

We had a really nice chat with the barman and our waitress before leaving, and found out they were both from the same area we’d travelled from. Such a lovely coincidence. Our young server had been polite, friendly and attentive throughout, and we were seated quickly. Dinner was freshly prepared, tasty and very good value. The Mill Inn felt warm and welcoming, with a nice mix of traditional village character and modern comfort. We visited on our last night in the Lakes, since it was close to our accommodation at Whitbarrow Village. The short drive along the country lanes was lovely, and the pub was easy to find, with good accessibility and parking nearby. We only ate there, so I can’t comment on the rooms. It has a good atmosphere, and it’s not far from the main road.

After walking an hour to get there, I was refused service even though I had physical ID. My brother was with me, a 6ft bearded adult aged 26, and offered photographic evidence of his iD too. I understand the law around age checks and have no problem being asked for identification. What bothered me was the staff’s attitude and lack of common sense. They seemed more interested in arguing than helping, and one staff member asked, “Do you not know the law?” The staff were rude and unhelpful. A very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend the place or go back.
