The Stag Enfield

I left after just one night of my four-night booking and found somewhere else in London because I was concerned about breathing and safety issues that the mold and electric heater could cause. I couldn’t get a refund after complaining. The low price looked attractive, but choosing this place was a mistake and the whole stay was a disappointment. Don’t be fooled by the price. It doesn’t deserve a star.

This was a complete nightmare for our London visit. The room was too hot and noisy, the bed was painfully uncomfortable, the sheets and pillows smelled awful, and the carpet looked filthy. There was no hot water either. The whole place smelled bad, and nothing looked like the website photos. We came through a broken gate next to the pub and saw two people smoking weed on the way in. There was no one at reception, just self check-in with a code. The pub downstairs has nothing to do with this accommodation, so they can’t help. We called the numbers shown, but one was missing a digit and didn’t work, while the other went to an automated system with no answer. Someone called back the next day, and the guy was extremely rude and creepy, with no help or apology. What’s the point of a helpline? This place should be inspected and shut down. It wouldn’t pass hygiene standards and offered no hospitality. Please avoid it.

I booked two nights, but the noise from the bar or club downstairs was extraordinarily loud. Even with earplugs, I couldn’t sleep until it stopped at 2 am, so I had to find somewhere else for the second night. The room was reasonably clean despite what other reviews said, but the lower price wasn’t worth it. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it.

The shower was dirty and blocked, and the mattress was terrible. I don’t know how a hotel like this can exist in England.
