Pencastell Views

The setting was lovely, with beautiful beaches nearby, Aberystwyth about a 30-minute drive away, and pretty views from the pod. We felt our husky was safe, and the directions to the dog areas were clear. Still, we probably won’t return and can’t recommend it. We chose Pencastell Views because the website mentioned lots of huskies for ours to meet, but after asking several times by message once we arrived, we were told that wouldn’t be possible. That was a real letdown, especially as another review described the same issue. If it’s no longer an option, the website should say so. Bring what you need for your stay: we had only half a roll of toilet paper for four nights. The pod could have been cleaner, though I suppose dogs being allowed may partly explain that. We didn’t see the hosts during our stay. We did have a nice time, despite all that.

We only wish we’d booked a longer stay, there was so much to see and do. We had a wonderful time at Pencastell Views for our 10th wedding anniversary, and our dogs enjoyed it too. Knowing they were safe was a relief, and now they’re happily worn-out huskies. Everything was perfect, and we can’t wait to go back!

There are just two pods, with enough space between them, and ours had everything we needed. It’s a very quiet spot overlooking beautiful countryside, with no road noise, and the fencing was secure. The indoor and outdoor dog enclosures make it especially good for people with dogs. The hosts were friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it, even though I live only a couple of hours away. Red & Koda give it five stars too.

Our first-night meal was beef in Guinness, and it was beautiful. The pod had everything we needed, including a toilet, shower, cooker and full fridge. For dogs, there’s a lovely enclosed area with fresh water and even poo bags. A great spot for dog lovers ❤️ We highly recommend it and will definitely come back. A special place.
