The town centre location was handy, right by cafes and shops. The train station was a 10-minute walk, taxis were available to go further afield, and the bus station was 5-10 minutes from the pub. The locals were friendly too. I had a great time over August Bank Holiday 2025. The room and bathroom were spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The warm weather helped me enjoy the stay. Had fun 👍🙏

A lovely little market town, with welcoming and friendly locals. We were impressed with the place during our weekend stay. It’s a good base for all amenities, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We’d stay again.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I came down from Leeds to visit family in Neath and celebrate my 40th birthday. We’ll definitely stay at The Ives again. We were on the go the whole weekend, so I’m sorry we never got to have a drink in the bar. A couple of coat hooks in the room and towel hooks in the bathroom would be my only suggestions.

The nightlife may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we had a great couple of nights and would recommend staying here. It’s dog-friendly and relaxed, with a great atmosphere in the pub. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and even though a couple of staff didn’t turn in for work, you wouldn’t have noticed. Our room was lean, the shower was amazing for easing aches and pains, and the towels and bedding were clean and fresh. We enjoyed the food both nights and slept well each night. Thanks for making us feel welcome. We’d stay again if we’re in the area.

The decor inside was lovely, with some nice Xmas decorations, and it’s a lovely place. The food was good, though the fish was a bit small, and the drinks were lovely too. Special mention to the friendly, enthusiastic barman. We’ll visit again.
