Newport Sands

The view was fabulous, and we had a lovely Sunday lunch here, the best we've ever had. Service was quick and the staff were lovely. There's a section of the dining area for people with dogs, so we could bring ours inside. A beach walk followed by lunch here is a great idea. Highly recommend.

Our group of eight, split into two fourballs, keeps coming back for our annual get-together. For two rounds of golf and one night's bed and breakfast, it's hard to find a better venue for the price. We found entertainment in the nearby town and had a top trip. The location and views at Newport Sands are outstanding, and the cafe staff and golf shop team looked after us brilliantly. The rooms are clean and spacious, with an en suite bathroom that does the job. Breakfast was freshly cooked, with a good portion after a night out. The course was in decent condition and a good, enjoyable test of golf, though there were some animal scrapes on the fairways and greens. Play was held up by slow members, but that was addressed.

A lovely long beach for parking up and enjoying the sand, with lots of camper vans and dogs about. The cafe and takeaway get very busy. Toilets are free, though smelly and in need of a deep clean. Still a nice place to relax and watch people try the ice-cold sea 🌊

When the tide's out, you can walk for miles on this lovely beach. We parked there for £5, a bit steep, then went around the estuary to Newport for a good pub lunch at the Castle Inn. With the tide still out, we took an easy stroll back along the beach. Good ice cream there too, and the place was very dog friendly and clean.
