A great little hideaway in Newark, with clean, lovely rooms and superb service from the booking team. It’s close to local supermarkets, around a five-minute drive. We booked for an event at Kelham Hall, which was about ten minutes away, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Newark for events in town or the surrounding area.

I hope I can come back soon. It was a lovely night’s stay, and I’d happily eat this breakfast every day. Everything was delicious, from the freshly squeezed juice to the homemade granola and fruit salad with elderflower.

I stayed two nights at the Compton and had a lovely time. The room had everything I needed, I met Lisa, who was lovely, and breakfast was great. When I couldn’t get a taxi to my sister in law on departure, a staff member went out of her way to take us. I’m very grateful, thank you so much. I’d recommend the Compton to anyone.

There was a warm welcome whenever we came through the door, and lovely fires in the evening. Breakfast came with freshly squeezed orange-grapefruit juice. Fantastic hospitality!
