Motel One Newcastle

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice. The hotel is right in the city centre, within walking distance of anything you'd need. The rooms are decent value and the facilities are okay. What let it down for me was the bed. It was far too soft for my liking, and I felt like I was sinking into it all night. A good night's sleep is what you want from a hotel.

We had a pleasant stay and appreciated the welcoming feel and comfort. Breakfast tasted very good, though the choice was limited. Our first night took a worrying turn when we found small bits of glass on the floor and cut ourselves. We were moved promptly to another room, which we appreciated, but housekeeping never cleaned that room during the rest of our stay. We'd opted for cleaning every other day and made an extra request, but neither was carried out. Better consistency with the cleaning would have made the experience much better. Thanks again for a nice stay.

The public areas, including the bar and breakfast room, have a superior design and quality. There's also a cosy little reading nook by reception, complete with a beautiful Christmas 🎄 tree. The hotel is pet friendly, but there are no safes in the bedrooms for valuables. It's very centrally located, with a great range of breakfast choices. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, although the bedroom decor is dated and the carpet is well worn.

The location was perfect, and the lobby was really nice and lovely to look at. It was very clean throughout. Our first room was ridiculously hot even with the heating off and the window open. The next morning I raised that at reception and mentioned it was hard to get ready because there was no mirror near the table or socket. The receptionist was very helpful and moved us to another room, and even gave us a fan in case we got too warm. The layout worked much better, and we slept great that night.
